Makita DHS660ZJ 18V 165mm XPT Circular Saw for Wood (without battery)

The Makita DHS660ZJ is a professional cordless circular saw from the 18V LXT® platform, designed to deliver fast, precise, and clean cuts in wood by combining power, maneuverability, and freedom of movement. Thanks to its brushless BL motor, capable of reaching a no-load speed of 5,000 rpm, it is an ideal solution for woodworkers, carpenters, flooring installers, contractors, and construction professionals who need a compact, high-performance circular saw for work in the shop and directly on the job site.

The DHS660ZJ uses 165 mm circular blades and allows for a maximum cutting depth of 57 mm at 90° and 41 mm at 45°, offering the versatility needed to make straight and bevel cuts on boards, panels, strips, joists, and numerous other wooden components. The large rubber-coated levers allow for quick adjustment of both the cutting depth and the machine’s tilt, making it easy to adapt the saw to different tasks.

One of the Makita DHS660’s key strengths is its compact and lightweight design, engineered to ensure excellent maneuverability even during extended use. The ergonomic handle allows for precise control of the tool, while the built-in dual LED lights directly illuminate the work area and improve visibility of the cutting line even in dimly lit environments.

To keep the cutting line clearly visible at all times as you cut, Makita has designed the ventilation system so that airflow is directed toward the front, helping to clear sawdust away from the cutting line. The rear dust exhaust port also helps channel debris away from the work area and can be particularly useful when you want to keep your workspace cleaner.

Safety during use is enhanced by the electric motor brake, which allows the blade to stop quickly, while the spindle lock button makes blade replacement quick, easy, and safe. XPT—eXtreme Protection Technology—further enhances the machine’s protection against dust and water droplets, a feature particularly important for those who use the power tool daily under typical construction site conditions.

The Makita DHS660ZJ is compatible with the guide rail system via the Makita 199232-5 adapter, a particularly useful solution when long, straight, and precise cuts are needed on panels and boards. This capability makes the tool suitable not only for standard construction site cuts but also for tasks requiring greater precision.

The DHS660ZJ is recommended for cutting wood, panels, plywood, multiplex, OSB, boards, and wood-based materials, and is particularly effective in carpentry, roofing and flooring installation, the construction of wooden structures, and joinery and assembly work. To achieve the best results, it is recommended to choose a 165 mm blade with teeth suited to the material and the desired finish: coarser teeth promote speed and productivity in rip cuts, while a blade with a higher tooth count allows for a cleaner finish in crosscuts and on panels.

As part of the Makita LXT® 18V platform, the saw can use compatible batteries from the same line, allowing owners of Makita LXT tools to share batteries and chargers across different machines.

The Makita DHS660ZJ includes a side guide, dust extraction adapter, Efficut T.C.T. blade (165x20mm, 25T), and a service key, all in a convenient Type 3 Makpac case with a pre-formed insert.
