The Makita DTD201Z is a professional 18V LXT cordless impact driver designed to deliver high tightening power in an extremely compact body. Thanks to its brushless BL motor and maximum torque of 210 Nm, it is an ideal solution for tradespeople, installers, carpenters, and professionals who need speed, precision, and control for the most demanding screwdriving tasks.

The Makita DTD201’s performance is paired with exceptionally compact dimensions: the tool body measures just 121 mm in length, a feature that allows for comfortable work even in tight spaces, inside structures, furniture, systems, or areas that are difficult to reach with traditional screwdrivers. The design, engineered to minimize bit wobble, also contributes to more stable and precise screwdriving.

The electronic system offers 4 speed settings, allowing the operator to adjust power and rotation speed to the type of screw, material, and application. The no-load speed reaches 3,700 rpm, while the pulse frequency goes up to 4,400 pulses per minute, ensuring high speed even during intensive professional work.

Of particular interest is T-Mode, developed for driving self-tapping screws. This mode allows for quick work on sheet metal by automatically controlling the impact phase, helping to limit the risk of over-tightening and achieve more precise and uniform fastenings.

The brushless motor eliminates wear-prone brushes and allows for more efficient management of battery power, improving the tool’s runtime, reliability, and durability. The DTD201Z is part of the Makita LXT 18V platform, allowing it to use compatible batteries from the same line.

The 1/4″ hex quick-change chuck allows for quick bit replacement, while the electric brake improves control of the tool at the end of the screwdriving cycle. The built-in dual LED, with pre- and post-illumination functions, improves visibility of the work area in low-light conditions.

XPT (eXtreme Protection Technology) helps protect the tool from dust and moisture in the most demanding working conditions. The ergonomic handle with Soft Grip coating ensures a stable and comfortable grip, while the battery protection system automatically cuts off power when the charge level becomes too low.

For self-tapping screws in sheet metal, it is recommended to use T-Mode, while for smaller screws and fasteners, it is best to start with one of the lower power settings, gradually increasing speed and torque depending on the material.
